Azul and Trip: new destinations

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Azul is already selling tickets for Maceió, flights beginning on 1 June. Azul is expanding its action to a destination abandoned recently by Webjet – arguing it wasn’t profitable. And from 4 June Maringá (Paraná) will receive four daily Azul flights from Campinas.

Trip is announcing a new daily flight Vitória - Ilheus - Salvador from today. And soon flights from Londrina to Rio de Janeiro, Cuiabá, Manaus and Foz do Iguaçu. The company is promising the flights for June. Trip is becoming more interesting by the day – a potential candidate for a commercial agreement with one of the main airlines. You can see the routes flown by Trip here.

Trip increases again the list of destinations it is flying to.

From 16 March it will fly from Salvador to Petrolina (Monday to Friday) and to Aracaju (daily flight). The latter continues to Recife and Natal.

From 2 April Trip will begin to operate two new routes. From Campo Grande to Bonito (Wednesdays and Sundays) and from Salvador to Lençóis (entrance door to the Chapada Diamantina), once a week, on Saturdays.

It seems Trip will continue to fly wherever the tourist wants to go. With an increasing flight network, it becomes an attractive potencial partner for a large airline (whether national or international).

Fernando de Noronha

Brazilian airline Trip is adding a new daily frequency to its flights between Natal, Recife and Fernando de Noronha. The additional flight will operate during the high season, between 15 December and 15 March.

On top of that, Trip is mantaining its two weekly frequencies from Recife and Natal to Noronha, and its six other frequencies from Vitoria, Salvador and Natal to the same destination.

At Destination: Fernando de Noronha, from our Brazil Travel Blog, you will find practical travel information on Noronha. Funnily enough, the Brazilian high season is not the best period of the year to visit the archipelago (we recommend the period between August and October).

A bit at a time Trip airlines are increasing their network and opening new routes of interest to those outside the Rio de Janeiro – São Paulo axe. Trip will soon fly from Vitoria to Salvador and from Salvador to Natal. It has also increased frequencies from Natal to Fernando de Noronha. Keep it up!

the main Brazilian airlines

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

In Brazil three companies concentrate the biggest share of the commercial aviation market. They are, in order of importance, Tam, Gol and Varig.

Gol owns Varig, and there are projects in the short term to begin code-share flights between the two companies. Tam has agreements with several international airlines and will shortly join the Star Alliance.

As well as the three companies mentioned above, you need to be aware of the existence of the following four companies:

  • Azul, company owned by the founder of the U.S. Jet Blue. It has just began flying and promises a rapid expansion of its operations.
  • Trip, the largest Brazilian regional company, with flights to several tourist destinations (the most popular of them being Fernando de Noronha)
  • Webjet
  • OceanAir, which will shortly change its name to Avianca Brasil

When it comes to searching for your airfares for domestic flights in Brazil, the companies mentioned in this post should be the starting point for your searches.
