photos: landing in Rio de Janeiro

| February 20, 2009

It’s carnival time, let’s go to Rio! Today’s photo, taken from the Sugar Loaf mountain, shows a Tam aircraft on its final approach to Santos Dumond airport (SDU). The plane is coming from the south and getting aligned with the airport’s runway. The aircraft came from the north, turned around just in front of the Corcovado mountain, and moments before the photo was taken flew above the Flamengo neighbourhood. On the background you can see the Rio – Niteroi bridge.
