agreement between Brazil and the European Union

June 17, 2010 | By More

On 14 July an agreement on traffic routes should be signed between representatives of the Brazilian goverment and the European Union. This agreement will replace existing bilateral agreements between Brazil and EU members (there are currently 15 agreements with 27 countries). There will be just the one agreement that will allow more EU airlines to fly to Brazil and within Brazil and more Brazilian airlines to do the same in Europe.

However, positive as the agreement might be, don’t hold your breath and expect to see new routes being announced on 14 July. The aviation market is profit-driven. The agreement allows for new routes, it does not create them automatically.
