Posted by: | CommentsThe airport tax corresponding to regular flights originating on a Brazilian airport are charged to the passenger by the airlines when the ticket is purchased. Then the companies transfer the tax to Infraero, the Brazilian government’s body responsible for the running of the nation’s airports.
For this reason, and contrary to what it is common in some other countries around the world, at the Brazilian airports there are no airport tax counters. You paid your Brazilian airport tax when you purchased your ticket.
Please be careful as the situation might be different in the case of charter flights. Do check with your travel agent.
Brazilian airport tax is among the most expensive in the world.
