Air China is announcing once again its return to Brazil. Two weekly flights from São Paulo to China via Madrid from 20 December 2009. Air China is already using a code share agreement with Tam.
The flight from São Paulo to Madrid is being sold for 520 USD (taxes excluded).
Extreme care must be paid when purchasing tickets for a non-existent Air China flight. Its past announcements and changes of mind should be a warning to all travellers (you are adviced to have a look at the links provided below).

Air China will not, after all, resume its São Paulo – Madrid flight on June 2009. The latest we’ve heard from the company is that its plans only contemplate resuming that route on July 2010! By changing its mind the whole time the airline is diminishing customer confidence on the company.

Air China used to fly from Madrid to São Paulo. Then it ended up the service and after that it announced flights would resume in March 2009. Now that date has been changed once again and the new estimate is end of June 2009. Will they really stick to that date?

Air China flying again from São Paulo to Madrid

Air China is flying again from São Paulo to Madrid, with a promotional fare of 600 USD (734 USD when the taxes are added). Air China is not one of the best airlines around, but the fare, for flights departing from Brazil, is.
Tariff VLPX2M is valid for flights between 29 March and 10 June and 20 August and 2 December. There is a 100 USD charge for changes. Tariff is non-reimbursable.
Air China ceased its flights to Brazil in September 2008 and it is coming back now from March 29. Air China is part of the Star Alliance, all that we need now is a partnership with Tam… if Air China is returning with excellent fares, please stay for good!
Flights will depart from São Paulo / Guarulhos (CA908) on Thursdays and Sundays at 20:30 and will land in Madrid at 11:45 the following day. On the way back (CA907), flights will take off from Madrid / Barajas at 09:20 and will land in São Paulo at 15:20.
