Singapore Airlines has special fares for its flights from Brazil to Spain during the month of October 2011. Purchases must be made between 5 and 18 September.

You can fly from São Paulo to Barcelona from USD 808 (taxes not included). If you can’t find the fares, get hold of a travel agent conversant with GDS. These promotional fares don’t accumulate miles. The booking class is N.

Tam is selling tickets for its newest international destination, Mexico City. There are fares from USD830 (tariff QYGYTMX, taxes not included). They can be purchased through a travel agent, as the airline hasn’t made those fares available through its website yet. The return flight must be completed within 30 days. Penalty for cancellation is USD200 and for alterations USD150.

There will be daily direct flights flown on a A330. Departure from São Paulo at 9:25 and arrival in Mexico City at 15:00. Take off from the Mexican capital at 15:25 and landing in São Paulo at 06:55. The initial date for the flight is 30 October 2011.

The competicion is reacting. Avianca offers a flight to Mexico City with a stopover in Bogota. It has fares from USD670 (tariff ZAAOOTFB, taxes excluded). For purchases no later than 31 August to fly between 1 September and 30 November 2011 (with the exception of the periods between 7 and 10 October and 15 to 18 October). Minimum stay of 3 days and maximum of 60 days. One free stopover (you pay only for the airport tax). Cancellation is not allowed and the penalty for alteration is USD115.

It remains to be seen whether Tam will offer connecting flights to other Mexican destination, specially Cancun. With the end of Mexicana operations, Aeromexico rules alone again in the domestic flight market in Mexico.

Tap, Lufthansa and AirFrance/KLM are announcing economic class fares from USD 899 to fly between November 2011 and January 2012.

TAP

Tap has fares departing from Rio de Janeiro to Madrid, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Munich, London, Rome, Amsterdam, Zurich, Paris, Nice and Vienna, among other cities, from USD 898 (taxes excluded).

Purchases no later than 31 July. Valid for trips departing between 1 November and 10 December 2011.

Rules. Tariff SWINTER is valid for a minimum stay of 7 days and maximum of 3 months. Two stopovers allowed, the first one is free, the second one costs USD 75. USD 220 penalty for cancellation and USD 150 for alterations.

LUFTHANSA

Lufthansa has fares from USD 899 (taxes excluded) for flights departing from Rio de Janeiro to Lisbon, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Munich, London, Zurich, Nice, Vienna and Venice. Fares from USD 949 to Prague, USD 999 to Istambul and USD 1049 to Moscow.

Purchases no later than 31 July. Valid for flights between 30 October and 14 December 2011 and 21 January and 31 March 2012.

Rules. Tariff LRCIBR is valid for a minimum stay of 6 days or a Sunday and maximum of 3 months. No stopovers allowed. USD 110 penalty for cancellation or alterations.

AIR FRANCE / KLM

There are fares from USD 899 (taxes excluded) to fly from Rio de Janeiro to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Milan, Rome, Munich, Venice, Zurich and Vienna. Fares from USD 949 to Copenhaguen, Oslo and Prague and from USD 999 to Istambul.

Purchases no later than 31 July. Valid for flights between 1 November and 8 December 2011 and 23 January and 31 March 2012.

Rules. Tariff ZPRBR is valid for a minimum stay of 7 days and maximum of 3 months. One stopover on each way allowed at a cost of USD 75. USD 220 penalty for cancellation and USD 100 for alterations.

KLM announces its new direct flight from Amsterdam to Rio de Janeiro starting on 1 November 2011. The Dutch airline had already flown that route up until 1999.

KLM is advertising promotional launching fares from USD 799 for purchases made before 30 June to fly between 2 November 2011 and 31 March 2012.

Iberia is offering promotional fares on its business class for flights departing from either Fortaleza or Recife. From 2,000 USD (taxes not included) you can fly to Barcelona, Lisbon, Dublin, Amsterdam, London, Frankfgurt, Paris, Rome and Zurich. From 2,220 USD you can get to Madrid, Vienna or Prague. From 2,300 you can fly to Athens and from 2,799 you can reach Tel Aviv or Cairo.

To be able to take advantage of the promotion “Viajando Juntos” (“Traveling together), two passengers must travel together. Purchases to be made before 31 July for trips ending no later than 31 August 2011.

Promotion only available through travel agents. Tariff IBR1CN (for 2nd passenger tariff is IBR1CP).

American is offering 10% for purchases made between 2 and 7 May through its own stores or local representatives. Flights must be completed until 10 June. The discount is valid for flights departing from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Salvador and Recife.

Before making any purchases make sure you understand the rules associated with this fare. Might be a good idea to check out the prices at American’s website before going to the local store.

To celebrate the launch of its 100th destination, Qatar Airways is offering two tickets for the price of one. The offer is only valid today 13 April and tomorrow 14 April. All the details of the offer can be found at the following page. Flights must be taken between 1 May and 14 June. The offer excludes flights between São Paulo and Buenos Aires.

Portuguese airline TAP has confirmed it will begin flying between Lisbon and Porto Alegre on 12 June. The direct flight will be operated on an Airbus A330.
